Wedding photography is a very personal thing – you’re inviting new people into one of the most intimate days of your entire life! This is why we think it’s important for you to get to know us before your wedding. Even if it’s just a coffee and a chat to go over the event, or to share photography ideas.
But before that, here’s a bit about us. Make Life Memorable Photography is a long-standing business partnership between Emily Lowrey and Martin Forrest. Between us, we’ve shot hundreds of weddings, and we both bring a wealth of experience to the table.
So why partner up?
To put it simply… it’s more fun this way! We can be in two places at once, and as we’re both professional wedding photographers, we can trust the other to get any one-off moments without hesitation. We can do our thing without any stress, and therefore thoroughly enjoy every minute even more. There is more coverage, more creative ideas, and — most importantly! — there are more photos for the couple.
It might be the beard… but due to my energy and enthusiasm, I’m often compared to a young Brian Blessed. But don’t let that put you off! I pride myself on my ability to make people feel at ease during shoots, and this lets me capture all the good stuff: real reactions, love, and laughter in my photos.
I adore my job. I know, that’s quite rare these days. But at least once a day I’ll proclaim that wedding photography is the best job in the world, AND IT IS! Confucius said, ‘Choose a job you love, and you’ll never work another day in your life,’ and I truly believe this. I think my passion and love of photography really comes through in my work. This is why I reckon few other photographers work quite as hard as we do, or have as much fun doing it.
What’s your favorite part of the wedding? I love the time I get to spend with the couple right after the ceremony. It’s usually the first moment they’ve had all day to see one another, to catch their breath, and relax! This is where we take some of our best photos, but also, this is where the nerves finally subside. The love and happiness that a couple has for one other bubbles to the surface at this time. You can see, clear on their faces: two people that have FINALLY DONE IT. They can’t stop smiling, and it’s contagious. You can almost see their future spiralling out in front of them, with so many more adventures to come, and so many more dreams to make reality. I love these moments and feel so privileged to be a part of them.
Like I said… Best. Job. Ever.
I’m a full time photographer and videographer, and I’ve shot weddings since 2012. I am utterly obsessed with photography. No really, I mean it. As well as it being my actual job, I also run a photography YouTube channel, and review products for select brands within the industry. I live with my husband and two border collies, who keep me entertained when I’m not taking photos. I love to go travelling (with my camera and drone… of course!) as much as possible outside of wedding season. Norway is next on our bucket-list. I want to see the Northern Lights and all the magnificent scenery.
What is your favourite part of a wedding? From a photography and videography perspective, I love the confetti moment. The utter joy — and surprise! — on people’s faces is always fun to capture. I also adore anything a bit different and off-beat. I love it when a couple really brings their personality to their wedding day; it’s extra fun to capture that way.
